Mickalene Thomas has become one of the most important image makers celebrating female and LGBTQIA+ empowerment. Her vibrant, large-scale portraits of Black women at rest – on show at the Hayward Gallery – reclaim space and representation in art history, celebrating love and radical repose.

The Multi-Story Orchestra is an award-winning music charity based in South East London, founded in 2011 by composer Kate Whitley and conductor Christopher Stark. Renowned for transforming the traditional concert experience, they stage performances in unconventional venues like multi-storey car parks, bringing orchestral music to new and diverse audiences and empowering young artists to lead the creative process.
